Janie Hulse’s penchant for journalism is largely a product of her passion for world affairs. From 2004-2008, Janie was a frequent contributor to Global Envision, an on-line magazine by MercyCorps dedicated to educating the public about issues related globalization and international development.

In 2006, Janie was contracted by ARD, Inc., a private international development organization, to write up success stories for its USAID program in Ecuador. Development of the stories required extensive preparatory research and dozens of in-country interviews conducted in Spanish.
